Original artwork by Bob Peak, “Frank Sinatra” TV Guide cover art. This artwork is SOLD

Portrait of Frank Sinatra for TV Guide Cover by Bob Peak (1973). Turning to a style reminiscent of the presidential portraits hanging in the National Gallery, Bob Peak employed clean brush strokes and fine linework to depict the legendary Frank Sinatra in a stately fashion for his appearance on the cover of TV Guide in November 1973. As if casting aside the scandals of the Nixon administration and the chaos of Vietnam, Peak places Sinatra’s bow-tied figure floating over a clean background of dark reds that blend into the lighter shades of his face that casts an orange glow off of it, as if a spotlight was shining down onto him. As if to remind the public, “This is a man you can trust.” This, lest we forget, is the Chairman of the Board. Accomplished with gouache, colored pencil and mixed media elements on 22.5″ x 30″ artist’s board, placed in a custom-made board cradle measuring 27″ x 33.75″. Signed by the artist at the center of the image.
